Reception Food

We haven't had our tasting yet, but we're planning on having the heavy hors d'oeuvres  listed in our caterer's packet:

International Cheeses and Imported Sausages with Fresh Fruit
French Bread and Crackers
Assorted Fresh Vegetables with Dip
Crostini with Smoked Mozzarella & Tomato Basil Relish
Phyllo Triangles with Spinach and Feta Cheese
Decorated Coconut Shrimp with Sweet & Sour Sauce
Assorted Mini Quiche
Sate of Chicken with Pineapple
Coffee, Iced Tea, Decaffeinated Coffee

We still need to discuss the bar situation with our venue too. Right now I'm hoping we can host beer and wine, with possibly a signature drink like the ones shown below. We may have to go with host bar up until a certain limit, then turning it into a cash bar. We'll see...

Cake

We're planning on getting a cake like this, only with the main parts white and the detailing in this color blue. We're getting it from Hy-Vee. It's grocery store cake, but tastes amazing and is cheap!

Possible DIY cake topper

I bought this for $3 at an antique shop and saw great potential in it as a cake topper. I am going to paint the letters aqua and the people white and put some bling on each little hole on the letters. We'll see how it turns out.
