The Proposal

For Spring Break 2009, our Junior year of college, Justin and I took a trip to Disney World. Justin and I had been to the Magic Kingdom the year before, but I wanted to show the rest of the parks to him. Disney World ranks up there as one of my top favorite places in the world. Our first full day there was Sunday, March 22. This was ten days after our four year anniversary and three days after my 21st birthday. We spent the day at the Magic Kingdom.

During the fireworks show, Disney characters were broadcast over the intercom talking about dreams and wishes. Jimminy Cricket came on and asked "What do you wish for?" Justin repeated the question to me and I said "I wish that I can be with you forever!" It was a very romantic moment, but I still didn't expect what was coming next. He's a generally romantic person. I then asked him the same question. He replied "I wish that you would make all my dreams come true and make me the happiest man in the world by becomming my wife." I was standing in front of him with his arms wrapped around me. I looked to the my side and saw the most beautiful ring sparkling in the light of the fireworks. I instantly turned around and started hugging him and crying and crying. He had to ask me if I was going to say yes. I can't believe I forgot to say yes!

People always ask if it was a surprise, and I don't really know what to say. We have known we were going to marry each other since a couple months into the relationship. I knew he had been saving up for a ring, and I had given a few hints as to what type of ring I wanted. I just had no idea when he was finally going to pop the question! I can't believe I didn't suspect anything. He did such a great job keeping it a surprise. He also did an amazing job picking out a beautiful, unique ring.
